Conveniently situated in the town centre, we have a large choice of shoes for ladies
and gents with Barnsley being the first town that Hamby’s traded in. The business
was founded in 1961 by Chris’s mother and father, Meryl and David Hamby.
Originally the business was a credit drapers, supplying clothing, footwear, jewellery,
furniture, carpets and decorating supplies to outlying villages around town.
We opened our first shoe shop in Shambles Street in 1979 and in 1992 we relocated
to a new town centre location on Albert Street East.
