Hambys Antique Centre is housed in a former medieval merchant’s house dating from
1470. On Rotherham's historic High Street, this landmark building is 100 yards from
the Minster. High Street is a conservation area in the arts quarter of town.
The ground and first floors offer space for up to seventy dealers specialising in
antiques and collectables. On the first and second floor are heritage rooms, with
free admission to the public. Here displays outline the history of the site and the
work that has been carried out over the last few years to restore and renovate this
and other nearby properties. The centre has an Acorn stair-lift* to the first floor,
but due to the age of the building and steep stairs access to the top floor is limited.
